How Do I Win?
Businesses who compete in the Challenge are competing against themselves and not each other. This means that you and your fellow participants have an equal opportunity to win awards.
You earn an award (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum) every time you achieve a specific milestone in your business development process. These milestones (and awards) correspond to the following four steps:
Step One: Setup your organization’s business model (Bronze)
Step Two: Create your company’s management system (Silver)
- Develop your company’s comprehensive Strategic Plan consisting of specific objectives and a series of projects designed to achieve your objectives in the time-frame you specify.
- Create your company’s “Book of Knowledge” (BOK). Your BOK should include the policies, procedures, training materials and forms related to performing every operational role.
Step Three: Use your company’s management system to grow (Gold)
- Actively implement your strategic plan.
- Perfect your “Book of Knowledge” (BOK) until you achieve the following milestones:
- Operations are scalable. This means your company is prepared to grow quickly while maintaining quality and service levels.
- Roles are easily delegable. This means roles are not dependent on specific employees but on strong systems.
- Employees are free from their “job traps” and can be easily promoted.
- Manage meetings (Using the Department Profile Page)
- Manage continual improvement (Using the Role Profile Page)
- Manage employees (Using the Employee Profile Page) if applicable
Step Four: Achieve performance excellence! (Platinum)
